Confirmed: Maine Mendoza is leaving this weekend for L.A. to watch the concert of Coldplay whose front man is Chris Martin, the ex-husband of Gwyneth Paltrow. Remember how they described their breakup? Yes, “conscious uncoupling.” Creative, isn’t it?
Funfare Update confirmed this piece of good news from no less than Tony “Mr. T.” Tuviera of APT Productions, producer of Eat, Bulaga! and Imagine You & Me, the first solo starrer of Maine and Alden Richards.
Mr. T recalled that when they were shooting the movie in Italy, they got wind that Coldplay, which is Maine’s favorite, was having a concert “somewhere in Europe.” But due to time constraints, Maine wasn’t able to watch it.
“So I told Maine that on Coldplay’s next concert, I will make sure that she could watch it,” said Mr. T. “I promised to pay for her airfare.”
Coldplay, Maine’s favorite band whose front man is Chris Martin (rightmost)…Martin as in ‘M.’
So the trip is not, as misunderstood, a “bonus” for Maine. The movie is a huge hit (almost P500M so far?) but Mr. T. politely begged off from revealing the exact gross.
“Basta malakas,” was all he would say.
Now, is Alden going with Maine to L.A.?
“No,” said Mr. T. “Maine will be watching the concert with her sister.”
Funfare Update purposely didn’t ask Mr. T. why he and his son, director Mike Tuviera, met with Kris Aquino recently, with the dinner lasting for several hours.
Instead, I texted Kris what the “real score” was.
This photo from the Instagram of Kris Aquino shows her having dinner recently with APT Productions big boss Antonio ‘Mr. T.’ Tuviera and his son, director Mike Tuviera, making people wonder what they were cooking up. Now it can be told…
Confirmed: Mr. T. is now Kris’ manager.
“Mr. Tuviera and Boy Abunda are co-managing me,” Kris clarified.
Asked what her first project under Mr. T would be, Kris was mum.
“Let us surprise you,” she said.
Oh well, let’s stay tuned.
