30 iconic Filipino films

MANILA, Philippines – There are iconic stars and there are iconic roles. Here we come up with a list of 30 iconic films, which is not to say they are necessarily the best Filipino films of all time but “widely-known symbols” or images.

John en Marsha and Mara Clara were both popular movies — and iconic as well, but they were more of boob tube bywords. There must be dozens of other titles that should be on this list but in celebration of Philippine STAR’s 30th anniversary, we are limiting the titles to 30, in no particular order of importance.
