MANILA, Philippines - Batangas Rep. Vilma Santos and reclusive director Mike de Leon, who first worked together in the 1984 classic Sister Stella L (photo), are reported to be teaming up again for a “landmark movie” to be likewise produced by Mike.
“It will be Mike’s last work for which he would be remembered more than he is for Sister Stella L,” said the STAR informer.
Considered as one of the all-time best Filipino films, the soon-to-be-remastered Sister Stella L produced by Regal Films is about the political awakening of a nun, inspired by a true story.
The Vilma-Mike reteam-up project will be about the De Leon clan that established LVN Pictures, one of the so-called Big Four in the ‘50s (including Sampaguita Pictures, Premiere Productions and Lebran).
