Body Talk with Joshua Bulot, the new Tolits in Rak of Aegis

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

A newbie on theater stage

Never has Joshua Bulot, a member of the trio JBK, imagined that he would act and sing on a theater stage, especially not in the highly-acclaimed Rak of Aegis, a production of PETA (Philippine Educational Theater Association) which is on its fifth comeback (due to insistent demand) bringing the spectacle of rain and flood with some fresh faces and talents.

As Tolits, Venizia’s lover boy, Joshua is performing with original Rak cast members Robert Seña and his wife Isay Alvarez, together with some veterans and up-and-coming actors like Aicelle Santos, Kim Molina and Jon Santos,  among others.

“This is a big deal for me,” admitted Joshua. “I am very nervous but also excited. It’s a new environment, but I love the challenge.”

The JBK boy band (with Bryan del Rosario and Kim Lawrenz Ordonio as the other members) emerged as the grand champion of the first Dreams Get Real: The Search for the Next OPM Star by McJim Classic Leather. They have three hit singles (Anong Meron Ka, Damang-Dama and Letting You Go) from their self-titled debut album.

“On social media, JBK’s cover videos of OPM, Indonesian and Malaysian songs went viral and gained the moniker #FireExitBoys because most of their videos were shot in fire exits of a condominium where they sometimes get into trouble with the building’s security,” said the band’s manager Chris Cahilig.

A Taurian (April 20, 1993), Joshua is a BS Marketing Management graduate from San Beda College. He stands 5’8”; weighs 142 lbs.; and wears medium-sized boxers briefs, small/medium-sized shirt and size-9 shoes.

“I love eating and I actually eat a lot so I make up for it by working out. The closest to diet that I have is not having too much rice in my meals.”

What do you usually have for breakfast, lunch and dinner…any snacks?

“For breakfast: Eggs, protein shake, corned beef or tuna. For lunch: I eat anything. For dinner: different kinds of soups or broths to go with my rice. I generally don’t like food that’s too dry for dinner.”

What part of your body is your favorite?

“My chest…because it’s close to my heart.”

What part is most vulnerable?

“My ears and my neck…especially if I can feel her breathing.”

“Boxers and sando…to stay cool and comfortable at night.”

Do you sleep in the nude?

“I have yet to try.” (*winks*)

How many pillows do you sleep with?

“For now, I have two or three because I love to hug pillows, but that can change if… you know.”

Do you snore?

“I am not sure, but my band mates and friends say I do. Maybe when I’m tired.”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“Check my social media accounts — Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And, of course, pray.”

And the first thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

“Fix my bed and check my Facebook. Nothing exciting. LOL.”

How do you cope with stress?

“Go on a road trip, play basketball and drink a couple of beers.”

Favorite hideaway?

“Overlooking areas in Antipolo City because I see the city and its beautiful lights.”

Favorite City?

“Of course, Antipolo City.”

How’s your sex life?

“Hmmm…Sadly, I’m too busy for that now. Career po muna.

Lights on or lights off?

“If this is what I think it is, lights on to see how beautiful my partner is.”

Three men that you think have nice bodies?

“Zac Efron, Chris Evans and Jake Cuenca.”

And three women that you find sexy?

“Ritz Azul, Kim Domingo and Jennylyn Mercado.”

Using only body language, how would you make a woman know that you admire her?

“Simple. I will just stare and smile at her.”
