John Lloyd 1st Southeast Asian actor to receive Star Asia award

MANILA, Philippines – John Lloyd Cruz adds another feather on his hat as he was named the first Southeast Asian actor to receive the Star Asia award from the New York Asian Film Festival.

The Kapamilya actor will personally receive the award at the 15th New York Asian Film Festival, Philippine Entertainment Portal reported.

This is the first international acting award that John Lloyd has received.

Also accepting a prestigious award is Therese “Teri” Malvar, who will receive the Screen International Rising Star award.

The 15 New York Film Festival will run from June 22 to July 9 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and SVA Theatre in New York City.
