Aces & Queens celebrates record win in Bb. Pilipinas pageant
MANILA, Philippines – A month after the Bb. Pilipinas pageant finals, Aces & Queens (the team that discovers and trains for free beauty queens for national and international pageants) held its traditional annual thanksgiving dinner at Gloria Maris Gateway recently. It also served as a celebration dinner since this year, A&Q entries posted a record win in the pageant, with 11 special awards, 13 of the 15 semi-final slots, six of the Top 8 winners, two runners-up and four major titles including Miss Universe Philippines (Maxine Medina) and Bb. Pilipinas International (Kylie Verzosa).
Aside from Maxine and Kylie, beauties who were at the party were: Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond, first runner-up Angelica Alita and second runner-up Jehza Huelar.
Maxine, who was discovered by A&Q member director Jeffrey Jeturian while shopping with her parents at a mall, is aiming for a back-to-back win in Miss Universe pageant (venue not yet known although the Philippines is one of the countries reportedly being eyed as the host).
In October, Kylie will compete in the Miss International pageant in Japan, Nicole will go to Las Vegas for the Miss Grand International pageant and Jennifer to Germany for the Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Hopes are high that this year, A&Q winners will make the Top 5, or score even higher, in their respective international pageants.
