The evolution of Shaina as an actress
Shaina Magdayao began her acting career when she was cast in the drama series Lyra. She became part of Ang TV, later joined Kaybol before starring on ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama series Marinella, along with Camille Prats and Serena Dalrymple.
She received various awards as a child in many films which include Tanging Yaman that won her Best Child Actress from FAMAS and Most Popular Child Actress Award from Guillermo Mendoza Foundation Awards in 2002. She also starred in Ang Tanging Ina and her character has also been award winning. Among her other awards are Best Child Performer from the Parangal ng Bayan in 1999 and Best New TV Personality in the 1999 Star Awards.

Shaina is now busy doing her latest series Single/Single Season Two with Matteo Guidicelli, airing Sunday nights at 10 on Cinema One, with replays on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 p.m.
Single/Single, Cinema One and The Philippine STAR’s first project, is the cable channel’s first TV series that focuses on issues ranging from quarter-life crises to relationship dilemmas in a digital world. The series combines engaging comedy with relevant messaging targeted to the urban singles coping with the demanding lifestyle of a more complicated world.
Season Two will continue to combine the power of cable and print media to talk to Filipino millennials about how to cope as a single individual in an entertaining format.
Online media will play a vital role in sparking conversation among millennials and engaging them as episodes will eventually be made available via PhilstarTV.com.
Returning to the series are Cherie Gil who plays Matteo’s single mom, Cinema One Originals actress Anna Luna as Shaina’s career-driven buddy, and theater actor Brian Sy as Shaina’s gay friend. The series is written by Palanca winner Lilit Reyes, directed by Pepe Diokno and produced by Bianca Balbuena. The Season One of Single/Single received awards from Anvil and Quill for its financial literacy advocacy for millennials.
