Brillante Mendoza makes cut for Cannes main competition

Brillante Mendoza will once again compete in the Cannes Film Festival and this year his entry is “Ma’Rosa.” Philstar.com / Joyce Jimenez 

MANILA, Philippines – Another Brillante Mendoza film made it to the Cannes Film Festival.

On Thursday, Cannes announced in their official Twitter account that Mendoza’s film “Ma’Rosa” is part of the main competition of the prestigious festival

 

Mendoza’s film will compete with other thirty-eight films from different countries.

This is the fourth film that Mendoza submitted to Cannes. The first film was “Serbis” in 2008, “Kinatay” in 2009 where he won best director, and “Taklub” in 2015.
