Shy Carlos transforms in Tasya

MANILA, Philippines – A Cinderella-like story is unfolding in Kapatid Network’s Saturday primetime offering Tasya Fantasya. The TV series, which is an adaptation of the komiks story created by direk Carlo J. Caparas, premiered last month.

Tasya Fantasya is topbilled by the 20-year-old Swiss-Filipino actress-singer Shy Carlos. This is the first time she’s taken a role that allows her to deglamorize herself.

Meantime, playing Shy’s love interest in the show is Mark Neumann. The rest of the cast members are Ara Mina, Candy Pangilinan, Giselle Sanchez, Kim Molina, Arvic Tan and John Lapus.

Tasya Fantasya tells the story of a kindhearted helper who dreams of meeting her prince charming. Tasya’s life turns exciting when she discovers a magical tree that leads her to a series of colorful and magical adventures that are about to change her life.

Shy was launched in showbiz as a member of Viva’s all-female group Pop Girls. She was also seen on the big screen in Para sa Hopeless Romantic, Chain Mail and Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin.

Asked by the media during a recent Tasya Fantasya set visit in Antipolo City to share her thoughts on her biggest TV break yet, Shy admitted that she is feeling the pressure. But more than anything else, she is thankful to TV5 and Viva for giving her the chance to portray the role of Tasya, among other opportunities. “I’m feeling the pressure pero salamat sa mga kasamahan ko like Mark na inaalagaan ako. Mabait si Mark. Sa show naman, abangan nila ang pag-iibang anyo ko dito, malapit na.”

Mark, on the other hand, said that he enjoys working with Shy. “Shy is super nice. I like her eyes; I like her because she’s not afraid to look ugly.”
