MANILA, Philippines – Kris Lawrence is making a comeback as he interprets one of the songs in the Himig Handog 2016 P-Pop Love Song song-writing contest.
This is his first time to interpret a song for the competition, where he’ll have a duet with RnB Queen Kyla in the song “Monumento” composed by Jungee Marcelo.
“So far the experience is great; it’s such a honor to be part of the line up of these artists,” he said in an interview on Thursday.
Lawrence believes that being part of this competition is a “blessing” and will be a great comeback for him after a short break in the music industry.
He also has his friend Jay-R to thank for constantly encouraging him to push further his career.
“He’s like an angel to me,” he said, describing Jay-R. “I’m very thankful, he looks out for me. He is one of the kindest artists that I know.”
Aside from this competition, Lawrence hopes that his covers album with Universal Records will be released soon, titled “Most Requested Playlist.”
