Charice Pempengco among most influencial singers in Asia

MANILA, Philippines - Charice secured a spot on Forbes first-ever "30 under 30 Asia" list, proving that she remains to be one of the most influential singers in the entertainment industry today.

Joining Si-Won Choi of Super Junior and Hollywood actor Liam Hemsworth, Charice is the only Filipino talent included in the entertainment and sports category of the list.

Charice posted on Instagram Thursday evening to express her gratitude toward Forbes for including her on the list.

Charice Pempengco was catapulted to fame when she was invited to perform at the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2008 for the "World's Smartest Kid" segment. Since then, she has started making waves in the international music scene, smashing records and topping billboard charts.

"Her hit single ‘Pyramid’ with singer Iyaz topped the Billboard Dance chart in 2010 and album sales in its first week earned her a spot on a U.S. Billboard chart. The pop and R&B singer was the second Philippine national to rank on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart," Forbes mentioned.

Forbes' "30 under 30" features 300 top young leaders, imaginative inventors, influential entertainers and brilliant entrepreneurs in ten different sectors.
