John Lloyd Cruz says he's 'been dying to work with Jennylyn'

MANILA, Philippines - John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado are excited to be working together in an upcoming Star Cinema movie.

The movie, slated to open in theaters next month, is John Lloyd's follow-up after the widely successful "A Second Chance."

It is also the first time Jennylyn, a home-grown GMA-7 star, will do a movie with John Lloyd and Star Cinema, the film production arm of ABS-CBN.

"I've been dying to work with Jennylyn," he said in an interview with ABS-CBN late night show "Tonight with Boy Abunda" aired Tuesday.

The actor is also happy for the opportunity to work with a talent from a rival network.

"Mas maganda 'yun para sa industriya." John Lloyd said.

Meanwhile, Jennylyn told "Tonight with Boy Abunda" that she's a long-time fan of the "Honor Thy Father" actor.

"Alam ng nakararami na I'm a fan. Halos lahat ng pelikula n'ya pinanood ko," she said.

The movie, still untitled, will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
