Karylle’s latest album a ‘reflection’ on her married life

MANILA, Philippines – Karylle releases an album which reflects what has become of her after marrying Yael Yuzon, vocalist of the band Spongecola.

The ABS-CBN TV host tied the knot with Yael in 2014, while her last album, “K,” was released in 2013.

“This one is more of after I got married ano ba ‘yong nagbago, ano ang lumalabas sa akin,” she said, describing her latest album “A Different Playground,” in an interview on Tuesday, before her contract signing with Polyeast Records.

Now that she’s living under one roof with Yael, it helped her to write songs faster than her usual pace.

“Mas mabilis na [ako] gumawa ng kanta kasi with Yael around, he’s always making songs at home, he’s always recording so ‘yong output time niya is very short, he’s very used to it,” she said. “So ngayon na may studio na kami sa bahay, kailangan gano’n na rin ako kabilis mag-work.”

“May pressure, pero in a good way. Kailangan mo mag-keep up,” she added.

Aside from being a singer, host, and health enthusiast, Karylle has found a new passion: photography. She’s currently an apprentice of the professional wedding photographer Pat Dy.

“I can say na official apprentice na ako ni Pat!” she said, laughing. She recently joined them in a wedding and she was tasked to take a photo of the groom’s reactions.

“Mahirap pala siya, kasi ‘yong lens ang bigat. Pero I enjoy it,” she related.

Since her mom Zsa Zsa Padilla’s wedding with Conrad Onglao will be happening soon, Karylle joked about her mom, saying, “Pagdating ng wedding niya professional na ako, sisingilin ko siya.”

However, Karylle doesn’t know much about the details of her mom’s wedding, and would rather “leave that for her to tell.”
