Julia bares herself in Alphabet Game

CONVERSATIONS - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

Just because she is a star doesn’t mean that she has absolutely no imperfections. Star Magic’s talent and one of ABS-CBN’s television princesses Julia Montes is one of those whom ordinary people can identify with in this regard.

Although young and very pretty, Julia has always been dissatisfied with the shape of her face. She felt that it was too rounded for comfort, especially when seen on TV.

Belo Medical Group’s latest breakthrough beauty solution called Face Out Fat easily solved Julia’s problem. Face Out Fat is all about achieving a slimmer face with non-invasive treatments.

According to Dr. Vicki Belo, Face Out Fat involves facial slimming procedures including Botox Masseter, a specialized treatment that involves injecting Botox into the masseter muscle in the jaw to reduce its size, giving the face a smoother and softer contour; Exilis Elite, a new technology that uses radio frequency (RF) energy for body and face contouring and skin tightening; and Ulthera, a new type of non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses focused ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone and tighten loose skin on the face, brow, neck, under the chin, and even the décolletage (upper chest area).

Incidentally, not many people know that Julia is a Lola’s Girl.

“Since my mother is deaf-mute, it’s my Lola Flori who assists me in everything, every step of the way…during my audition when I was a kid and during tapings and shootings. She’s always there to guide me. I felt my mother and father in her. My Lola brought me up with love and discipline.”

Julia recalled that she would be rejected in some auditions and she refused when her Lola brought her to more auditions.

“But my Lola would bribe me,” Julia fondly laughed at the memory. “She would tell me, ‘We will eat at Jollibee if you audition,’ at go ako bigla.”

Fast-forward: After a stint in Goin’ Bulilit, Julia got her big break as the titular role (with Kathryn Bernardo) in Mara Clara, a remake of the hit Kapamilya teleserye that starred Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes. Julia now plays twins in Doble Kara, another Kapamilya teleserye.
