Is she still playing Darna? Angel Locsin remains coy

MANILA, Philippines — Is Angel Locsin still playing Darna in the upcoming Star Cinema movie project?

Speculations arose that the 30-year-old actress will play Darna again after Star Cinema released a teaser trailer for the movie last month.

The names of Liza Soberano, Nadine Lustre, Jessy Mendiola are among those who came up as possible replacements for Darna, after Angel announced that she's giving up the project last month due to a medical condition.

But according to tabloid reports, Angel will still reprise her role as Darn a last week.

At the sidelines of the press conference for the Star Cinema movie "Everything About Her" on Sunday, Angel is mum when asked about the rumors that she will play Darna again.

"Kung sakali, kung sakali. Tignan na lang po natin talaga," she said, asked if her decision to give up Darna is final.

"Basta kailangan, healthy lang po talaha. Kasi gusto ko magka-baby sa future rin."

She also said, when asked further about the issue: "Ako ba?"

"Kinikilig ako kasi mahal ko talaga yung project, e," Angel said.

During the press conference for the movie, Angel said she is still undergoing treatment for her disc bulge.

"So far, tapos na po yung procedure sa back ko po," she explained. "Meron po akong return, after po ng pelikula, tatapusin ko lang ang premiere night and mga block screenings. Lilipad po ako ulit (to Singapore)." — Chuck Smith
