Nilalang wins technical awards

MANILA, Philippines - It’s definitely a big honor for the team production behind Nilalang to win five technical awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The action-suspense thriller topbilled by Cesar Montano and Maria Ozawa (photo) grabbed the following awards:

Best Cinematography for Pao Orendain, Best Editing for Jason Cahapay, Best Musical Score for the veteran Jesse Lasaten, Best Sound also for the award-winning Ditoy Aguila and Best Special Visual Effects, represented by Dondi Chuidian.

Of the five winners, Cahapay and Aguila were able to attend the awards night to accept their trophies.

Meanwhile, starting Jan. 1, because of the clamor of   netizens as film audience, MMFF agreed to add more cinemas to screen Nilalang, as follow:

Glorietta 4, SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, SM Marikina, SM Manila, SM Fairview, SM South Mall, SM Sta. Mesa, Robinsons Galleria, Gateway, SM Iloilo, SM Lanang, SM Cebu, SM Bacoor, Robinsons Pampanga, Robinsons Metro East, Festival Mall and Market Market.

Starting today, additional cinemas will come in — SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma and Robinsons Ermita.

In spite of the “controversy” behind MMFF, the production groups WeLovePost, Haunted Tower Productions, Parallax Studios and Viva Films — productions behind the action flick — are  grateful for the recognition of the said awards for Nilalang.
