Comedian Russell Peters coming to Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Global comedy star Russell Peters (photo) is bringing to Manila his Almost Famous World Tour on Feb. 22, 2016 at the Kia Theater.

The Almost Famous World Tour will feature Russell’s latest take on some of his favorite communities, jobs he can understand, cell phones, dating and his uncle who’s never been punched in the mouth, plus Russell’s signature lightning fast improv with the audience.

“I like to interact with the front rows,” says Peters of his signature back and forth with the audience. “I use the interaction to take me from bit to bit. Some guys go onstage with a script and don’t deviate from it. That’s not my style. I have my set and know what I want to cover; I just use the audience to move me in certain directions. It’s very collaborative and each show is unique.”

Peters was also the first South Asian to sell out Harlem’s Apollo Theatre, and was the first comedian to sell out Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena in 2012  — that show becoming the largest comedy show in Brooklyn history.

The Almost Famous World Tour has already sold over 150,000 tickets in Canada, where Peters will become the first comedian to sell-out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre for a sixth time.

In 2015, Peters took the Almost Famous World Tour to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the UK, Europe and Asia, with more international dates to be announced in 2016. His last tour took Peters to 26 countries and over 200 performances, with over 300,000 fans attending his shows globally.

Peters was recently seen as a judge on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, alongside Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Peters was also seen in Jon Favreau’s critically-acclaimed movie, Chef.

The Almost Famous World Tour is presented by Midas Productions. To purchase tickets, log on to Ticketnet.com.ph or call 911-5555.
