AlDub takes Davao by storm

MANILA, Philippines – After a successful promo tour in Cebu the day before, the cast of My Bebe Love: #Kiligpamore continued to spread love and good vibes to the Kapusong Davaoeños at SM City Davao last Dec.18. Vic Sotto, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza together with direk Jose Javier Reyes gave the Crown Jewel of Mindanao an early Christmas treat by choosing Davao City as one of the stops of their regional promo tour.

Taking off from Yaya Dub’s search for her father in Cebu, Alden and Maine also brought Eat, Bulaga’s Kalyeserye to Davao, while JoWaPao remained in Cebu to do another Sugod Bahay. Afterwards, Alden and Maine joined Vic, Ai-Ai and direk Joey in meeting up with the local press.

And later that day, even the cold weather coupled with the occasional rain and drizzle didn’t dampen the crowd’s warm reception to the Kapuso Fans Day with Alden at SM City Davao, which was followed by the promo mall tour of My Bebe Love. Despite the unfriendly weather, local police estimated that around 12,000 eager fans flocked to the venue.

The deafening screams and shrieks when Alden came out proved that the Pambansang Bae, indeed, is the hottest male star of today. He serenaded the crowd with songs from his album that included How Great is Our God and God Gave Me You. Alden returned the love by giving extra time in interacting with the crowd. He was all smiles during selfies with fans and tried to get close to as many fans as he could.

After a brief pause in the program, the fans, especially the AlDub Nation, were extra jubilant when Alden came out again, this time with Maine. The loveteam, who, in just a period of five months, has achieved multiple social media records, awards and more than a dozen product endorsements, couldn’t hide their excitement in facing the crowd together. It was the second mall tour for AlDub, whose first months of interaction were conducted over a splitscreen and limited to fansigns and dubsmash only.

Still, the duo did not forget to share their dubsmash talents to the cheers of the crowd. Even hosts John Feir and local DJ Ate Yna couldn’t hide their kilig when both Alden and Maine gave similar replies regarding the status of their relationship. On the way to forever, they both said.

Alden also asked Maine, “Kinsa’y imong lab?” which means “Who is your love?” in the local dialect.

Completing the night was the appearance of Vic, Ai-Ai and direk Joey to promote the movie. If the crowd’s eager response to the cast was any indication, the movie is likely to be a top-grosser.
