MANILA, Philippines - Birthday cake no more.

Philippine bet Pia Wurtzbach was stunning in the capiz terno she wore for the national costume show of the 64th Miss Universe.

The show, which happened after the pageant preliminary competition, was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday (Thursday morning, Philippine time), featured the Miss Universe candidates in their respective national costumes.

A Best in National Costume special award will be given during the coronation night on December 20 (December 21, Philippine time).

Pia's dress didn't receive flak, unlike the terno Mary Jean Lastimosa wore for the 63rd Miss Universe pageant earlier this year, which netizens disgruntlingly compared to a birthday cake.

The national costume show is perhaps one of the most anticipated portions of the annual Miss Universe pageant due to the candidates' elaborate and jaw-dropping attires.
