Two decades of laughs with the Bubble Gang

MANILA, Philippines – The laughter continues as GMA Network’s award-winning comedy/gag show Bubble Gang (BG) celebrated its 20th anniversary with the theme I Am Bubble Gang last Oct. 27 at Gateway Mall Cinema 1 in Cubao, Quezon City.

GMA Network chairman and CEO lawyer Felipe Gozon and Michael V along with the Bubble Gang cast and guests viewed a special documentary that provided an inside look into the important aspects of the show.

“I am proud that the Kapuso Network has our very own genius when it comes to comedy — Bubble Gang. Ang Bubble Gang ang nagbibigay sa ating lahat ng tunay na Pinoy jokes, gags, sketches, parodies and spoofs, ” said Gozon.

The theme was Bubble Gang’s way of saying that the success of the long-standing show doesn’t only belong to the cast, the staff, the network, but to all Filipinos who watch the show as well. Bubble Gang is viewed not just as a comedy program but also a reflection of a Filipino way of life.

The show has been running for two decades now and according to the team behind the program, its longevity was unforeseen yet a “welcome development” and a realization of a dream.

Meanwhile, the event coincided with the launch of a commemorative gag book titled IMBG: I Am Bubble Gang (The Bubble Gang 20th Anniversary Commemorative Comedy Chronicles) dedicated to televiewers who continue to give the show their overwhelming support.

The book is a compilation of the best moments, photos and stories of Bubble Gang that has had entertained televiewers since its inception in 1995.

Present at the event were past and current Bubble Gang cast members Antonio Aquitania, Diego Llorico, Myka Flores, Boy 2 Quizon, Moymoy Palaboy, Jackie Rice, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Chariz Solomon, Andrea Torres, Max Collins, Sef Cadayona, Juancho Trivino, Jan Manual, Denise Barbacena, Arny Ross, RJ Padilla, Maureen Larrazabal, Sherilyn Reyes and Ara Mina.

Bubble Gang executive in-charge of production Lilybeth Rasonable, VP for Entertainment/supervising producer Marivin Arayata, senior program manager Bang Arespacochaga, director Uro dela Cruz, head writer Caesar Cosme, GMA VP for program management Jose Mari Abacan and German “Kuya Germs” Moreno also graced the event.
