MANILA, Philippines - Philippine delegate Ryan Richard Tamondong (right, with Gyver Jude Concon, fourth placer, left; and Charie Vega, head of Vega Entertainment) won the Grand Prix against entries from 17 European countries. Another Philippine team delegate, Gyver, placed fourth in the 18 to 24 age category. The other Philippine delegates Princess Faith Priel and Mikee Mikosa received a diploma and a medal.
The Philippines is the only Asian country invited to join Europop. Charie, owner of Vega Entertainment Productions, is the official partner and managing director for Asia. In-charge for the European competitions is Leider Leis Musik Productions headed by Viktor Leis.
It’s the country’s second time to compete at the Europop. Last year, Ana Katrina Ramsey won first place in the 18 to 24 years old category, and Gian Marla Gloria won fourth place and Glee Nette Gaddi third place in the 14 to 17 years old category. Goin’ Bulilit’s Cha Cha Cañete won second place in the 10 to 13 years old category and Natalie Erin Martinez received a diploma and medal.
