Elmo Magalona now a Kapamilya

MANILA, Philippines - Elmo Magalona is now a Kapamilya.

The 21-year-old actor-singer signed a contract with the Kapamilya network on Thursday.

Elmo, son of the late rapper-actor Francis Magalona and brother of actress Maxene Magalona, is a former GMA-7 talent who has been with the network since 2010. He has done a number of shows and movies with the Kapuso network, including the recent soap operas "Villa Quintana" and "More Than Words" with girlfriend Janine Gutierrez.

After the contract signing, Elmo was asked by the members of the press if he's still in good terms with his former network GMA-7.

"No bad vibes," he said. "It wasn't easy but I wanted to try something new."

He added that his five-year stay with the Kapuso network is responsible for making him "who he is" now.

Now that he's a Kapamilya, Elmo admitted that he's having "mixed feelings."

"It's a new adventure, it's a new challenge," he said. "I'm always game for any challenge and new adventure."

Elmo will be paired with Janella Salvador in his first project in ABS-CBN. They willll star in the upcoming TV series "Born for You" under the network's Dreamscape Productions.
