Space month on Discovery Science

MANILA, Philippines - Discovery Science presents new shows featuring planets, aliens and all things outer space this month.

Ever wonder what it’s like to fly out into the unknown? Despite successful space discoveries, not everything goes smoothly out there. Hear chilling first-hand accounts of space exploration disasters from over 20 astronauts who managed to slip away from tragedy and lived to tell tales of close calls, equipment malfunction and adrenaline rush in Secret Space Escapes airing Friday nights at 9.

In UFOs: Declassified, take an exclusive peek at never-before-seen UFO footages once shelved deep in the government’s X-files. Listen to stories from aircraft pilots sent out to tackle enemy aircraft — only to discover peculiar flying machines. Backtrack to the ’80s and ’90s, where dark, triangular flying objects were spotted. The secrets are ready to be laid out for you to see, which begs the question: Do extra-terrestrials really exist? Find out on Nov. 19 at 9 p.m.

Dive into the mysteries of the universe with the Discovery Channel special, Pluto: First Encounter, airing on Nov. 21, 9 p.m. Pluto records from NASA’s nine-year-old New Horizons spacecraft are recollected, featuring precious documents such as Pluto’s very first images and accounts from the astronauts themselves who took them.
