MANILA, Philippines - Singer-actor Young JV goes deeper into the psyche of today’s youth by embracing Electronic Dance Music (EDM) as can be heard and felt in his latest single Flashback.
He even flew to his hometown Iloilo to officially release the track through FM station MOR 91.1 and by way of a styled Twitter party with his fans in anticipation of the premiere broadcast of the song’s music video via MYX music channel.
The premiere TV broadcast (Channel 23 on Skycable) of the music video shot at Image Factory Studio in Makati was aired last Oct. 23.
The song, which features singer Emmanuelle Vera who also appears in the video clip, is taken from the digitally and physically released album YJV, his third CD and released earlier this year.
“The song Flashback conjures images of a romantic affair forever residing in a special place in one’s memory,” shares Young JV who celebrates with Younglings, as his fans are fondly called, the release of another promising track.
To hype up the occasion even more, Young JV also hosted the #FlashbackTwitterParty, also serving as an early Christmas treat for his supporters.
Last Oct. 22, MOR 91.1 launched the single ahead as a way of acknowledging the unwavering support of the singing star’s hometown fans. It was his most heartfelt effort yet in salute to the people of Iloilo whom he is very proud about.
“I’m a proud Ilonggo and I love giving back the love to my fans whether they are from my hometown or anywhere else,” Young JV adds.
The Star Magic talent, likewise popular for his talent in playing basketball, led a friendly game last Oct. 24, with some selected pretty boy models from Iloilo as his teammates. They played against a specially picked squad from Dumaraw, Capiz in Roxas.
Pinoy Big Brother’s Fourth Solomon joined Young JV in his team.
Young JV, who collaborated with Vice Ganda for a song called Pasadiyos, is now making waves for his music and acting bits in teleseryes, including those he showcased in Honesto, Budoy and as Benjamin in the recent ABS-CBN hit soap Nathaniel.
Young JV’s debut album Ready Or Not went platinum in 2009 while its sophomore venture Doin’ It Big dodged the jinx scare when it scored gold in 2012. His latest CD YJV already notched an infectious melodic upbeat song with Ale as he also performed with Duncan Ramos a Philpop finalist Hang Out Lang that eventually earned for him the Best R&B Recording nomination at the 28th Awit Awards. For that, he was pitted against more established recording stars such as Sarah Geronimo, Kyla and Gloc-9.
Young JV will be performing at MYX MO’s 15th anniversary presentation at MOA Concert Grounds on Oct. 31. He will sure perform the danceable Flashback.
