Angel Locsin says giving up Darna 'really painful'
MANILA, Philippines – Angel Locsin said it was “painful” to give up the Star Cinema movie Darna.
“It’s really painful po, masakit po talaga na hindi ko magagawa ‘yong Darna,” Angel said in an interview with ABS-CBN's “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired on Monday.
The actress had to give up the project after she had a disc bulge on her spine, which was due to the trauma that her bones had after having a number of injuries in the past.

The Kapamilya actress said she wanted to personally explain to her fans why she gave up the role to avoid any misconception about her decision.
Angel has been experiencing back pains for a long time now, but she ignored it thinking it was only due to fatigue.
What alarmed her was when she experienced not being able to stand up or crawl because of the pain.
She is currently undergoing therapy and and is discussing with her doctor the possibility of undergoing an operation for her disc bulge abroad.
After the incident, Angel admitted thinking of leaving showbiz for good, but the ABS-CBN executives talked to her.
In the end, Angel thanked her home network and her fans for the support they are giving her.
“I don’t have the right to ask for anything na maintindihan nila ako, na irespeto ang desisyon namin ng ABS-CBN kasi sobra-sobra na po ‘yong suportang ibinigay ninyo,” she told her fans. – Joyce Jimenez
