MANILA, Philippines - No typhoon could stop Hillarie Parungao from winning Miss World Philippines 2015, held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old beauty queen from Nueva Vizcaya bested 25 other contestants for the crown. This is her first national beauty pageant.

Hillarie was already a favorite early in the competition, winning the Best in Sports Challenge, Best in Fashion Runway, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Gown special awards.
She also won four other sponsor awards.
Former "Eat Bulaga" mainstay Valerie Weigmann crowned Parungao as the new Miss World Philippines.
