Tippy Dos Santos on upcoming album: It’s finally coming into a reality

Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Tippy Dos Santos is happy that her dream to release her own record is finally coming true.

She has done several collaborations with other artists before. Most notably, she recorded the 2013 song “Dati,” composed by songwriting duo Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana, where she collaborated with Sam Concepcion and Quest. The song won the grand prize at the 2013 Philpop songwriting competition.

“It's a dream that's finally coming into a reality!” she exclaimed. “I grew up with music all my life, being in the recording studio often, but never really for a record that is mine.”

Tippy admitted that it was surreal that she’s recording her own singles.

“I couldn't help but feel such happiness in my heart. I’m grateful that Universal Records believed what I could do as a singer,” she said.

The song “Parang Wala Lang” is the carrier single of the album, and its music video has been featured in MYX Channel last September.

“When I first heard the demo, I fell in love with it right away,” she said about the song. “I guess the excitement also came from the fact that I could relate to the message of the song.”

The singer-actress-VJ said that the song speaks about “going through a tough breakup, when your heart is so broken and you're still very much in love with the person, pero para sa kanya, wala lang,”

Tippy’s self-titled album will be released on Oct. 9 in all leading record bars nationwide.
