MANILA, Philippines - Dora the Explorer is one of the most well-known pre-school shows today. The animated Latina has made her way into the homes of her viewers since 2000 and is now the longest-running series in Nick Jr. She has even skipped her way to bags, balloons and apparel not only in the US but all over the world. Dora is more than a TV character to the kids, she’s a heroine.
The show was primarily designed by Chris Glifford to encourage pre-schoolers to sing, dance and accompany Dora in every adventure, helping them learn in a fun and light manner. Toddlers exclaiming “Vamonos!” or counting “Uno, dos, tres” is proof that the show has a strong recall among young viewers. As a result, kids actively engage in Dora’s play-along quest with her animal friends. It is no surprise that Dora and her friends have become worldwide hits.
Vivre Fort Entertainment, in partnership with Life Like Touring and Nickelodeon, brings the wonderful experience of Dora the Explorer out of the tube and onto the stage. Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer LIVE! Search for the City of Lost Toys is coming to Manila. The much-awaited show features eight-year-old Dora who leads the audience through a grand adventure to find her lost teddy bear, Osito. Similar to the TV show, the musical is a global crowd-pleaser. The audience is strongly encouraged to participate from their seats and help Dora and Boots on their adventure.
With well-known songs from the TV show as well as brand-new songs created just for the stage show performed by full-costumed characters, the experience will be larger than life. The show will be another hit among children. Save the dates Oct. 9 and 11 for an adventure-filled afternoon with Dora and her friends at the Meralco Theater.
