'That Thing Called Tadhana' wins first international award in Guam

MANILA, Philippines – Independent film “That Thing Called Tadhana” won its first international award at the Guam International Film Festival on Wednesday.

The film won an award for the Best Narrative, and the news was received by its director Antoinette Jadaone Thursday morning.

“I’m just happy kasi ibig sabihin nata-transcended ng ‘That Thing Called Tadhana’ ‘yong mga culture and language [ng Pilipino] and it goes to show love really is the universal language,” she said in an interview aired in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on Thursday.

Aside from the film, young actor Buboy Villar also won an Achievement in Acting award for the film “Kid Kulafu,” which is the life story of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao.

Also nominated in the said category is actress Angelica Panganiban who starred in the film “That Thing Called Tadhana.”
