MANILA, Philippines – Gloc-9 doesn’t immediately accept offers to write jingles for the 2016 elections.
He is known for his songs which tackle national issues affecting Filipinos, particularly the masses.
“Siyempre po may mga nare-receive po kami na ganyan,” admitted Gloc-9 when asked if he’s receiving offers to write jingles for politicians.
For now, Gloc-9 is focused with his upcoming solo concert, which is a celebration of his 38th birthday and 18th year in the industry.
“Wala po kasi talaga sa wish list ko ‘tong mag-solo concert, sa totoo lang,” he replied when asked why it took him long to do a solo concert.
His concert will happen on the four Saturdays of October starting October 10. On each day, he’ll have different guests.
For the first night, he’ll perform with Aiza Seguerra, Bamboo, Jay Durias, Jennylyn Mercado, Kylie Padilla and Marc Abaya. The second Saturday he’ll be with Chito Miranda, Ebe Dancel, Janno Gibbs, Jonalyn Viray and Rico Blanco.
The third night will be attended by Ebe Dancel, Jolina Magdangal, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Yeng Constantino. While for the final night, Ebe Dancel, Jay Durias, Julie Ann San Jose and KZ Tandingan will be there.
Maya, Migz Haleco, Reese and Rochelle Pangilinan will be present in all his shows.
With all the success and recognitions that he has received in his 18 years in the industry, all Gloc-9 would like to do is maintain where he is at the moment.
Gloc-9’s “Mga Kuwento ng Makata” concert will happen on October 10, 17, 24 and 31 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, in San Juan City.
