MANILA, Philippines – Maxene Magalona is happy that she was able to convince her sister Saab Magalona to join her cause for cancer patients.
Last year, Maxene was happy for the support that the public gave for the “Matrix Chairs of Change,” which was spearheaded by salon brand Matrix and in partnership with David’s Salon.
The participants of the campaign will cut off eight inches of their hair, which will be used in making wigs for the benefit of Kythe-Ateneo which takes care of some kids battling cancer.
“Sobrang sarap sa feeling seeing the kids so happy because nabigyan namin ang isang kid ng wig. The smile on their face is just priceless,” said Maxene about the campaign.
Saab who joined the campaign for the first time said it wasn’t hard to convince her to join the cause since they’ve also lost their father Francis “Kiko” Magalona to cancer.
“It was no problem at all, no hesitations,” said Saab. “It was a great example of how someone let go of their beautiful long hair and I know I’ll feel good the way that she did when she did it last year.”
Maxene also said that being part of the campaign can make the kids feel that “we’re here, Matrix, Ateneo we’re all here for all these families of these kids with cancer. They’re having a hard time going through that, but just seeing how many people are willing to help it feels so good.”
The campaign will run until December 31, 2015 where you can visit David’s Salon branches and ask for your hair to be donated for the Matrix Chairs of Change with regular hair cut charges apply. One can also donate their chopped off hair to Matrix Philippines Office at the Robinson’s Equitable Tower in Ortigas.
