MANILA, Philippines - Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF) of ABS-CBN has gained a lot of followers and viewers have started to appreciate the act of impersonation. The interactive reality TV show format was first used in Spain in 2011 under the title Tu Cara Me Suena.
But prior to the success of YFSF was a similar talent show called Stars In Their Eyes, which aired on British TV from 1990 to 2006, wherein non-celebrity contestants were asked to impersonate showbiz stars. Stars In Their Eyes remains to be one of Britain’s most successful shows, attracting around 13 million viewers for the live grand finale at the end of each series. One of the winners is Gary Mullen. His spot-on imitation of the legendary Freddie Mercury of the band Queen was phenomenal.
In 2001, Queen was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That same year, the theatrical and mesmeric show One Night of Queen was set in motion by Gary and his band The Works as homage to perhaps the greatest rock band of all time.
Since then, Gary and The Works have been touring the world to bring back to life the timeless rock anthems of Queen. Their two-hour energy-filled concert never fails to amaze the audience that had toddlers and grandparents dancing inside the concert halls and venues.
On Oct. 24 and 25, Filipino concert-goers are in for a treat as One Night of Queen goes on stage at The Theatre of Solaire Resorts and Casino. Reminisce the band’s best and most-lauded performances with songs such as Radio Gaga, A Kind of Magic, Another One Bites the Dust, We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want to Break Free and We Will Rock You.
Presented by Solaire Resorts & Casino, MKFAE Productions, Inc. and Royale Chimes Concerts and Events Inc., One Night of Queen performed by Gary and The Works is guaranteed to rock you and give you a different musical experience.
