Terror continues in Sinister 2
MANILA, Philippines - From Blumhouse, producer of true-to-life horror stories like Insidious comes Sinister 2, is a more detailed and meticulously researched film on the subject of demonic evil. No one is safe as demons can show up unexpectedly to destroy you and your loved ones anytime, any place.
The movie picks up in the aftermath of the first Sinister, with Ethan Hawke’s character and family uniformly obliterated by the malignant spirit of Bughuul. Later, twins discover the recording made by the previous children, and the vicious cycle inevitably continues.
Professor of Demonology explains to the protagonist exactly who the villain is, what his motivation is, how he does what he does, what must be done to stop it and what the salient dangers are.
According to paranormal investigations, there are many reasons for the existence of these spirits. There may be residual energy left from a previous resident or the entity is attracted to the current resident’s negative energy and feeds off of it. Evil energies are destructive and detrimental. It is something that destroys, rather than blesses and it is present everywhere. Sinister 2 catches us up pretty quick on all of these and brings such phenomenon in the big screens.
The long-haired pale-faced Bughuul returns in Sinister 2 to terrorize nine-year-old twins Dylan and Zach, and their mother, who have escaped to a country home to elude their abusive father.
The town’s law enforcer from the first film (James Ransone), scours the Midwest, in an attempt to burn down Bughuul’s former haunting grounds in the hopes of dispelling the demon. But when he encounters the said family living in the property he had hoped to burn down, the deputy gets more deeply involved with fighting the Bughuul than he had wanted.
Dylan and Zach are slowly being taken by Bughuul. The deputy finds himself in a race against time, as he seeks to learn enough about Bughuul’s methods and how to stop him, before the demon makes the twins his latest victims.
Sinister 2 is not for the faint heart. It is filled with the most disturbing gore and scares that will keep you awake at night.
Sinister 2 is now showing nationwide.
