Meet the ‘Toughest Pinoy’
MANILA, Philippines – A 34-year-old poet and musician from Quezon City has recently been hailed as the “Toughest Pinoy”.
Reyn Talosig a.k.a “The Daring Dreamer” defeated nine other contestants last week at the final showdown of R U Tough Enough? (RUTE) competition hosted by the action entertainment channel KIX.
"First and foremost, congratulations and all my respect to my fellow competitors. All of them were tough. Just like what the saying 'iron sharpens iron' suggests, all of us were definitely honed in the process,” Talosig said after surpassing the obstacle course.
“Also, this competition only proved that I can do everything with the help of Christ, who strengthens me. So if you ask me if I'm tough enough, I will say no. But He is.”
Talosig walked away with P250,000 and the coveted title “Toughest Pinoy”.
RUTE 2015, hosted by reality star and actor Daniel Matsunaga, attracted more than 300 applicants. But only 10 finalists with the physical, mental and emotional strength made it to the final stage of the competition.
“I am honored and blessed to have been selected by KIX to be part of R U Tough Enough? Being tough is about setting a goal, and giving your all to achieve it without ever giving up. That's what our contestants showed here today,” Matsunaga, who is also the contest ambassador, shared.
