MANILA, Philippines - A new talk show has premiered on MyTV SkyCable Channel 30 in Central Visayas. Hosted by Mike Acebedo Lopez, Open Mike is a one-on-one talk show with some of the most fascinating personalities in public life.
The show’s pilot episode, which premiered last Aug. 31, put the spotlight on survey frontrunner to the Philippine presidency, Sen. Grace Poe.
Poe shared her views on the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, on balikbayan boxes, on Philippine-Chinese relations and other issues of national significance.
The second episode, which will air on Sept. 7, features one of the country’s most bankable leading men, Dingdong Dantes.
Dingdong, Pres. Benigno Aquino’s appointee as National Youth Commission (NYC) commissioner-at-large, talks about the issues affecting the Filipino youth, his own political prospects and family life.
Prior to being asked by MyTV executives to frontline the show, Mike has worked as a socio-political communicator and stakeholder relations professional with nearly a decade of combined experience in the public sector, civil service and mass media (broadcast and print). He was a panelist on ABS-CBN’s The Bottomline hosted by Boy Abunda whom Mike considers one of his mentors.
