5 things we know about the Vic-Pauleen engagement, upcoming wedding

MANILA, Philippines — “In God’s perfect time,” Pauleen Luna said on her Instagram account hours after her long-time boyfriend Vic Sotto admitted that they are engaged.

The statement is a fitting description in the newest chapter of their colorful love story.

Pauleen joined “Eat Bulaga” in 2005, but she actually first met Vic as a contestant in the noontime show’s Little Miss Philippines contest in 1995. Vic admitted he is in a relationship with Pauleen in 2013, more than a year after it was first speculated that the two were a couple.

Pauleen is now 26 years old and Vic is 61 years old; between is them a gap of 35 years which, the two said in interviews, was never an issue in their relationship.

The TV host-actress, in previous interviews, maintained that she’s not in a hurry to tie the knot, adding that she is secured and contented with her relationship with the veteran TV host-comedian.

“I’m sure, happiest girl ngayon si Pauleen dahil siya ang babae na pakakasalan sa pangalawang pagkakataon ni Bossing,” writes Lolit Solis, Pauleen’s manager, on her Pilipino Star Ngayon column today.

Vic kept mum on the details of the engagement and their wedding, saying he will divulge them “sa tamang panahon.”

But as showbiz relationships go, nothing is actually ever a secret, whether the couple wants it to be or not. 

Here are five things we know about Vic and Pauleen's engagement and their upcoming wedding, according to the sources of STAR entertainment editor Ricky Lo and Pilipino Star Ngayon showbiz editor Salve Asis.

1. Pauleen’s engagement ring is a three-carat Solitaire engagement ring that Vic bought in Hong Kong last week, according to Lo. If this true, it means Vic proposed to Pauleen only recently. The veteran TV host-comedian’s trip to Hong Kong is one of “rare trips abroad without Pauleen,” Lo added.

2. Vic kept mum on the details of their engagement. But Lo said the wedding is “definitely set before end of this year.” This was reported on the STAR last May, prior to rumors of their engagement.

3. Vic already asked permission from his children to marry Pauleen. The “Eat Bulaga” host has four—Oyo Boy, Danica, Paulina and Vico.

4. According to Asis’s source, Pauleen may her wedding gown in the US. “Tiyak mamimili na siya either Vera Wang o Monique Lhuillier,” she wrote.

5. If the wedding pushes through before the end of the year, it will be a simple affair. “Simpleng wedding lang daw ang plano ng magkarelasyon at strictly for family and friends lang ayon pa sa source,” Asis wrote.
