The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Former Quezon City Councilor Ariel Inton (photo), greatly responsible for the reduction of taxes for local movies shown in Quezon City theaters through an ordinance he principally authored, will be among the special guests at Pros & Cons Breakfast Inter-Action tomorrow, Sept. 3, 9 to 11 a.m. at the Aberdeen Court, Quezon Ave., Quezon City. Journalist and movie director-scriptwriter Nardz Belen hosts Pros & Cons.

Inton, who is now a commissioner of the Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board (LTFRB), also authored a resolution calling Quezon City as the City of Stars and the Entertainment Capital of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, director Pablo Vergara, member of the Board of Governors of the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) and head of the academy’s composers and songwriters guild, is today’s one of the country’s top composers. A trustee-musical production of Mass-Com Guild Strategies, Inc., Vergara’s bestselling compositions include Bakit Ako Mahihiya sung by Didith Reyes; Bakit Ikaw Pa, Imelda Papin; Ano Nga Bang Pangalan Mo?, Eva Eugenio, among others.
