MANILA, Philippines - Elha Nympha was declared winner of the second season of “The Voice Kids” on Sunday.
The 11-yearold singer, who was mentored by Bamboo Mañalac, bested three other finalists for the title. Reynan Dal-Anay of Team Lea placed second.
Esang de Torres of Team Lea and Sassa Dagdag of Team Bamboo finished third and fourth, respectively.
As winner of “The Voice Kids,” Elha won a P1 million cash prize and a recording contract, among others.
The finale of the ABS-CBN reality show was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, Pasig City.
During the first round of the two-day finale, Elha performed “Narito” with Jed Madela and “Emotions” by Mariah Carey.
Elha sang Martin Nievera’s “Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin” during her final performance on Sunday.
The winner of “The Voice Kids” was determined solely via text votes.
This is the first time coach Bamboo’s finalist won “The Voice.” Mitoy Yonting of Team Lea won the first season of “The Voice of the Philippines” in 2013, while Lyca Gairanod (“The Voice Kids”) and Jason Dy (“The Voice of the Philippines” season two) of Team Sarah won in 2014.
Elha, dubbed as the “Biriterang Banana Cue Vendor ng Quezon City” during the competition, wowed the judges during the audition round with her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love.
