Another chance at love

The love story is a genre of entertainment that has survived all types of challenges through the years but has remained as the leading type of diversion everywhere. The new romantic drama All of Me, directed by Dondon Santos for ABS-CBN, tells of how a 50-year-old actor Manuel (Albert Martinez) finds love while recovering from the loss of his wife played by Ina Raymundo.

He lives by himself in a self-installed hut by the sea. We catch glimpses of him cooking his food and often making sketches. His hut contains just these small properties plus the most important one of all — the framed photograph of his wife that stands as the only decoration in the room.

The relative peace of Manuel’s existence is broken one day when a woman named Lena (Yen Santos), who survived a storm at sea, is washed ashore near his hut. Having lost her boat, she can only hope that her friends who knew that she had gone boating will look for her soon and find her. In the meantime, Lena has to stomach the harsh nature of Manuel who allows her to stay in his home while waiting for help. She tries to start a conversation but Manuel cuts her off quickly.

One day, while still trying to reach out to Manuel through conversation, Lena picks up the photograph and that causes Manuel to loss his patience. Lena is at a loss of what to do and goes out of the house to think. She decides that if Manuel will not confess of his feelings, she will. With great relief, Manuel, too, concedes his love for Lena.

Soon, Lena hears sounds of people calling out her name, and by a strike of fortune, finds friends in a boat who have long been searching for her.

The next scene is back in town where Lena’s mother (Ana Capri) collapses in the market and Manuel helps the woman.

Aling Bebeng is thankful because a doctor immediately helped her. It must be a stroke of faith that the doctor they found is Manuel.

Lena and Manuel become friends. Manuel embraces life again and despite the age gap, they find themselves in love. They get married and during their honeymoon, a hired killer tries to kill Manuel, but he escapes death when he stumbles upon a magic portal that transforms him back to his younger self. Now, a younger Manuel (JM de Guzman), who discovers that time has advanced, faces another big challenge in his life — to seek revenge and win back Lena who is now happily married to his former protégé, Dr. Henry Nieves (Aaron Villaflor), or forget her entirely and start a brand-new chapter of his life. What is Manuel about  to do now?

Others in the cast are Angel Aquino, Neri Naig, Micah Muñoz, Jordan Herrera, Sue Ann Ramirez and Akira Morishita.
