Kris as Mar’s running mate?

Whoever is floating the rumor on social media that Kris Aquino will be the ultimate choice as administration presidential bet Mar Roxas’ running mate in 2016 must be pulling a big joke on all of us.

You see, up to now Mar is still patiently wooing three ladies as runningmate --- Sen. Grace Poe, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos and CamSur Rep. Leni Robredo.

Grace has been keeping her cards closer and closer to her chest, and we may not know what her final decision is until early next month when, according to rumors, she will make a “big announcement” (on her 47th birthday, Sept. 3)?

Now on her third and last term, Vilma said that she’s not ready for a national position, which would entail sacrificing her family, and if ever she ran for a higher position, it would be for Batangas congresswoman.

Seconded by her children, Rep. Leni was quoted saying that the vice presidency didn’t attract her…and would she rather run for senator?

So I asked Kris if she’s interested (she’s just as qualified as the three other ladies, isn’t she?).

Said Kris, “Why would I ever settle for fourth choice?” Hmmm, oo nga naman, ano? In a previous interview with The STAR, Kris was consistent in saying that, thank you, she didn’t have any political plans at all, for 2016 that is, not even for, also according to persistent whispers, Tarlac governor.

Also asked then if she would campaign for Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, her partner in the “work that didn’t progress,” who’s running for his third term (and not, Herbert has been insisting, for senator), Kris said, “No need. He’s a sure winner.”

Incidentally, contrary to reports, it’s a go for Kris and Herbert’s Star Cinema movie Mr. & Mrs. Split. Kris is now finishing the shoot for Etiquette For Mistresses (also for Star Cinema, based on Jullie Yap Daza’s best-selling books).

“We won’t finish the shoot (for Mistresses) until Sept. 8. The playdate is Sept. 16,” said Kris.

Maybe from overwork, Kris has been sickly lately.

“I’ve been unhealthy for more than two months and my siblings want me to have a thorough executive check-up after the showing of Mistresses,” Kris told Funfare. “That is, before I commit to starting another project. I had blood works done on the set two weeks ago because my sisters got worried since I had a big bruise in my inner thigh that just came out, as big as my hand, even if I didn’t bump into anything and I didn’t fall. The hematologist checked the results and said I was okay.”

Kris has been plagued with recurring severe allergies and persistent cough for one month.

“The outcome of my participation (in Mr. & Mrs. Split) will depend on my health. But as of now, it’s all systems go to shooting by the third week of September,” she added.

Honestly, I’m puzzled why Kris, like her soul brother Boy Abunda, has to work so hard almost at the expense of her health. They have all the money ordinary workers can never dream of earning in  three lifetimes, so they should slow down and take life leisurely, and, to quote a cliché, take time to smell the flowers.

How do you like YanDre?

Andre Paras: To be paired with Yassi Pressman in the forthcoming Viva movie Girlfriend For Hire. The love team, will be known as, you guessed it, YanDre.

There’s JaDine and KathNiel and the abortive KrisTek and dozens of other uninames. Is there room for one more love team such as YanDre? That’s Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras who are cast as such (YanDre) in the forthcoming Viva film Girlfriend For Hire.

What’s the difference between YanDre and other love teams?

Andre: I can say that Yassi and are weird and funny.

Why should the fans support YanDre?

“Because we do it for the smiles and laughter of our fans and we love entertaining.”

What are your and Yassi’s special qualities?

“Yassi is easy to get along with and she is effortlessly beautiful. I’m easy to get along with and I’m really fun to be with.”

What was your reaction when you learned that Viva was giving you a launching movie?

“We are very thankful because we love to make people happy and we love to make fans know that we support them back.”

Why should fans watch Girlfriend for Hire?
“It’s a different kind of story. But, of course, super kilig.”

What do you like and dislike most about being in showbiz?
“Dislike: I don’t get to see my family. Like: I’m able to make them proud.”

“Working with James (Reid), Nadine (Lustre) and Yassi, in Diary ng Panget.”

How much do you love your job?
“I love it like it’s my life and I treasure it.”

What are your career plans?
“I want to put up a business and help out people.”

How you do you see yourself, five years from now?
“I’ll be 25 years old and I’ll be working on my craft.”

What are the things that you sacrifice for showbiz?

“Family time and bonding with friends.”
