All Time Low, Maine live in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Get ready to scream your hearts out this month as PULP Live World presents All Time Low Live in Manila tomorrow, Aug. 12 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City. And if that’s not enough, American pop-rock band The Maine will be joining All Time Low in support of its fifth studio album American Candy.
All Time Low is set to return to Manila for what is expected to be a massively successful show that will get you off your feet and moving to the beat of their hits like Somewhere in Neverland, Dear Maria, Count Me In and I Feel Like Dancin’. This is the first time the band is coming back to our shores after its very well-received headline appearance at the Bazooka Rocks II in 2013.
The upcoming release Future Hearts features Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. Something’s Gotta Give, the lead single off the album, was released January this year and has received positive comments from critics. Maria Sherman of Fuse has described the song as “huge rock and roll stuff!” and has highlighted the “classic All Time Low self-deprecating lyricism” as one of the track’s notable features. The song was similarly appreciated by fans and debuted at No. 14 on the US Hot Rock Songs chart.
All Time Low was formed by high school friends Alex Gaskarth (vocals, rhythm guitar and keyboards), Jack Barakat (lead guitar), Zack Merrick (bass) and Rian Dawson (drums) in 2003. The band released its debut studio album The Party Scene in 2005. In 2006, the same year the band members graduated from high school, the guys dropped the EP Put Up or Shut Up under Hopeless Records and began touring. Its second full-length release So Wrong, It’s Right was released in 2007 and peaked at No. 6 on the US Independent Albums chart and the second single from the album Dear Maria, Count Me In was certified Gold despite never being played on the radio. Its most successful album to date is 2009’s Nothing Personal which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. Its subsequent releases, 2011’s Dirty Work and 2012’s Don’t Panic, were almost equally as successful with both peaking at No. 6 on the same chart.
The Maine will be returning for the first time since its sold-out headline stint in The 8123 Tour with This Century and Nick Santino held last year at the SM Skydome. Comprised of John O’Callaghan (lead vocals, piano), Jared Monaco (lead guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (bass), Patrick Kirch (drums, percussion) and Kennedy Brock (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), the band has released two EPs, one holiday release and five albums. Its breakthrough 2010 album Black & White sold almost 23,000 copies upon a week of its release. The Maine’s 2013 record Forever Halloween debuted at No. 39 on the Billboard 200 charts. Its latest single English Girls debuted at No. 17 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. The Maine members profess a deep love for the Philippines, where they have been blessed with a following.
