No stopping To The Top
MANILA, Philippines - The long wait for the country’s first multi-platform boy band competition is finally over as GMA News & Public Affairs’ To The Top sets the weekend on fire beginning tonight at 8:50.
Out to win the hearts of viewers of all ages, be they fan girls or music lovers, the boys of To The Top are determined to wow everyone with their moves, looks and fresh talent. Boy bands, after all, are made of these. And that’s just for the program’s online channel alone, www.gmanetwork.com/tothetop, hosted by GMA Artist Center’s Julian Trono.
Philippine television sees the rise of all 14 young artists all set to make it to the top. They are AJ Ajrouche, Lance Busa, Ken Carpena, Mico Cruz, Martin de Vera, Luis Gragera, Joshua Jacobe, MJ Magno, Miko Manguba, Bryan Olano, JP Palanca, Adrian Pascual, Louie Pedroso and Edric Ulang.
“I’m very sure that GMA 7 will come up with a really good roster of new talents,” assures To The Top main judge, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. “These boys will be the future of Filipino entertainment — singing, dancing boys. I promise that.”
Joining Mr. C in this project are vocal coaches Moy Ortiz, Sweet Plantado and OJ Mariano of the Philippines’ premier vocal ensemble The CompanY; dance coaches and two-time World Hip Hop Champions Philippine Allstars alumni Madelle and Prince Paltu-ob, as well as international breakdancing champion Jesse “Reflex” Gotangco; and the Sound Squad of musical arrangers and sound engineers led by Jonathan Ong and his team from Sonic State Audio — Chino David, Chrisanthony Vinzons and Brian Lotho.
Also lending his expertise in the early part of the competition is celebrity photographer Mark Nicdao.
All 14 artists will be divided into three groups and housed together. Join them Saturday and Sunday nights at 8:50 and 9:40, respectively, as they undergo intensive vocal and dance training for their performances and evaluations.
