MANILA, Philippines - Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama (fifth from left) was among those who watched the full-packed final run of Bituing Walang Ningning The Musical at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT), Resorts World Manila (RWM) last weekend.
Personally invited by Alliance Global chair Dr. Andrew Tan (seventh from left), Rama said that he was proud to see fellow Cebuano Monica Cuenca star as the iconic lead character of the show. Bituing Walang Ningning The Musical is the stage adaptation of the Nerissa Cabral classic, which was originally a comics series, and then made into the famous 1985 movie. Tan, along with RWM president Kingson Sian, pushed for the all-Filipino adaptation to rekindle the memories for the fans as well as to touch the interest of the younger generation. Tan hopes to continue strengthening the world of Filipino Performing Arts by providing the country with world-class facilities like the NPAT and supporting more all-Filipino productions in the future. As the Bituing Walang Ningning The Musical ended last weekend, many are clamoring for the musical’s comeback within the year.
