Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino at Century City Mall

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Century City Mall shows its support for Original Pilipino Music (OPM) by celebrating the first Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino.

The ongoing music festival, which kicked off this week and runs until July 31, features a roster of unique musical acts. Triple Fret, the grand prize winner in the 2015 Japan Guitar Festival and the country’s only all-female guitar group, entertained mall-goers with a mix of contemporary and classic tunes yesterday.

Meanwhile, the trio of Nikki Cabardo, Dave Harder and Alvin Cornista, a seasoned group of session musicians, will take the stage tonight at 6.

Capping the music festivities is Escolta 3 am featuring Ron Henley. The jazz group will perform jazzed-up kundiman pieces tomorrow night (July 24) at 6. All shows are free of charge.

Century City Mall is also home to 12 Monkeys, a favorite venue for its nightly showcase of Pinoy musical artistry. On July 28 at 10 p.m., 12 Monkeys hosts Callalily as part of the music festival and more importantly, as a celebration of the rock band’s 10th anniversary. Door charge is waived for limited slots.

Century City Mall is located in Kalayaan Ave. cor. Salamanca St. in Makati City. For details, call 705-6200.
