Jasmine Curtis-Smith urges public figures to back an advocacy

MANILA, Philippines — Jasmine Curtis-Smith calls out to other public figures to support an advocacy.

The Kapatid actress said public figures should "make good use" of their status to help out others who are in need.

"I think ando'n ka na, e, may paraan ka na to help other people," she explained. "You don't even have to do much, just say join World Vision or join a campaign and help them help others, that's already enough for a public personality to do."

"If they want to join and more, that's one way of encouraging and showing people how easily doable these campaigns are for everyone," she added.

Jasmine, who is the ambassador of World Vision, is promoting the organization's latest campaign the "White Event," where personalities auction a pre-loved white item which will be seen at www.whiteevent.ph.

One can bid as many times on as several items until May 8, 2015. The proceeds of the auction will go to the rehabilitation of classrooms of Catmon Integrated Schoool in Malabon City.

Since most of Jasmine's fans are teenagers, she said their financial limitations wouldn't hinder them in supporting the organization's thrusts.

"It doesn't depend naman solely on the amount of money you can give, but also on how far you can deliver the message and spread the word to those who can provide the means financially," she explained.

Jasmine is currently busy with her upcoming movie "Mara" under Regal Films, and TV5's dance contest “Move It.”
