Yeng Constantino has mixed emotions over MYX Awards

MANILA, Philippines — Yeng Constantino admits having mixed emotions, after she failed to take home honors from the recent 2015 MYX Music awards.

On her blog post on Monday, Yeng said, however, she does not mind not having won any awards this year since she already experienced it for the past four years.

“For the past four years ako ay palaging may napapanalunan sa MYX MUSIC AWARDS at apat na beses na akong naging Favorite Female Artist. Naranasan ko na magkaroon ng Favorite Music Video na award sa MYX pati narin sa pagiging MYX Celebrity VJ eh napanalunan ko rin,” she reminisced.

“Ngunit ngayong taon ay wala akong napanalunan kahit isa. Malungkot ba ako? Sa totoo lang po hindi at oo,” she later admits.

The Kapamilya singer then explained her sentiments. Explaining she does not have issues with the results, Yeng said being included among nominees is enough for her.

Yet what affected her was the reaction of her fans.

“Alam kong nalungkot ang mga taga-suporta ko. Nalungkot ang mga Yengsters,” she said, adding that she appreciated her fans for their efforts and support.

“Alam kong mahal n'yo 'ko at secure ako do'n. I am still so proud of you! Maraming salamat sa walang sawang suporta!” she said.

Yeng also felt sad for the team behind the music video of her single “Ikaw,” since she saw the hard work of KM Productions and its director, Christhian Escolano.

“Aaminin ko na nanghinayang ako na hindi nanalo ang music video naming ito hindi dahil sa pakiramdam ko eh kame ang pinakamagandang MV, kundi dahil sa nakita ko kung gaano tinrabaho nila Direk at ng buong KM Prod ang buong video,” she said.

“Gusto ko sana mabigyan sila ng parangal nung gabing iyon at mai-dedicate na rin yung award sa cameraman naming si Ezra,” she added, referring to a staff member who died after their shoot in Palawan.

Despite the results, Yeng acknowledged their talents and even looks forward to working with them again. She concluded her statement by congratulating all the winners that night.

“Nakakainspire makita ang mga bagong artist na dumadating at pati na rin ang evolution ng music ng mga artist na nandito na. APIR para sa OPM! Mabuhay tayong lahat! Congratulations sa mga nanalo! Congratulations MYX!” she said.
