MANILA, Philippines - Popping a candy in her mouth while sitting traffic is Solenn Heussaff’s (photo) anti-stress therapy. The sweet indulgence enables her to endure long working hours, allowing a quiet treat in the midst of a hectic film shoot, modeling or TV hosting stint.
Aside from being an actress and TV host, Solenn is also a model, make-up artist, singer and painter.
Her pretty face and well-toned body have produced several eye-catching billboards and TV commercials. Solenn adds another entry in her list of achievements as the official endorser of Alpenliebe, the rich creamy candies by Perfetti Van Melle, a European confectionary brand.
Having been involved in fashion, movies, music, beauty and the arts, Solenn is more than just a beautiful face. She makes an effort to pursue a variety of interests.
She regularly goes to the gym and takes part in running events in order to keep fit. She also believes there is more to life than hard work. For instance, she gives in to simple, small and sweet indulgences, like eating her favorite candy, after a stressful day.
“Who doesn’t love candy?” she said, when asked if her sweet tooth is a sin against her fitness routine. “I take everything in moderation. Anything in excess is not good. Vegetables are good, but you can’t have vegetables all the time. The same thing about candies. I like eating them, especially if I am sleepy. I don’t know if it’s just my mind, but it somehow wakes me up. I always have candies. Between the seats in my car is a container filled with candies and it is refilled every week.”
The sweet treats will come in handy in the next few months as Solenn begins her film assignments, one of which is a horror film to be directed by Peque Gallaga.
As for her TV work, Solenn is the regular host of Taste Buddies on GMA News TV and MP Sports Science on GMA 7. She will also launch a perfume and lifestyle book soon.
