MANILA, Philippines - The first-ever Atleta Ako Women’s Aquathlon, held last March 22 at the Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) in Pasig City, was a strictly-for-women race event. The race encouraged women of all ages to be active, to get into sports like swimming and running.  Women from different age groups participated. Among the racers were Polo Joson (left), 74, she did a relay with her granddaughter Isabella Pascual; and Charry Parpan, 70, who did a relay with her daughter Lara Parpan.

The event was organized by Bike King and the Philippine Sports Commission in observance of the International Women’s Month.
