MANILA, Philippines - It has been quite a journey for It’s Showtime resident DJ M.O.D. in the entertainment scene. He was originally part of the Pinoy hip-hop act Mastaplann before his solo DJ venture and work as a pop, R&B and hip-hop album producer. For Noel Macanaya a.k.a. The Master of Disaster, it has always been his passion for music coupled with a positive attitude that keeps him going.
“We live in a futuristic age and musically, times have changed. We used to talk about this ‘future’ and it’s here right now. The music and the gadgets, everything we’re living it,” DJ M.O.D. says.
Local Electronic Dance Music (EDM) aficionados would be glad to know that DJ M.O.D. and Warner Music Philippines have partnered and will soon release an original dance music album titled Accepting Change.
The first single Rain On Me is an uplifting piece of EDM characterizing what the DJ is all about — the heartfelt sentiments, ear-tweaking melodies and concrete knowledge of what electronica is all about. “Anybody can be a DJ with all the gadgets coming out but you still need inspiration and that’s what I strive for,” DJ M.O.D. says.
Rain On Me is just one of the many collaborations between DJ M.O.D. and sons Darren and Casio. “They are my songwriting partners contributing 50 percent to the work. They laid the foundation and I just took it up from there,” he says.
