MANILA, Philippines - Willie Revillame returns to GMA-7.
The TV host signed a contract with the Kapuso network on Friday for his weekly game show, reportedly titled "Wowowin."
GMA-7 executives Felipe Gozon and Jimmy Duavit, among others, attended the contract signing.
"Dito naman ako nagsimula sa GMA. Kumbaga, nag-abroad lang ako. Ngayon, nagbabalik na ko," Willie said during the contract signing. Willie started his career as a TV host on GMA-7 via the 90s noontime show "Lunch Date."
Willie signed an airtime agreement with the network. This means the controversial TV host will do a show on GMA-7 not as a talent of the network but as a blocktimer. According to reports, Willie will pay the network P2 million per week for his show, which will reportedly air every Sunday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
This signals Willie's return to television his more than a year hiatus from show business. He hosted a number of shows for TV5, from Willing Willie and Wil Time Bigtime from 2010 to 2012 and Wowowillie in 2013, following his departure from the popular ABS-CBN noontime show "Wowowee." Willie left TV5 in Octoner 2013.
Reports that Willie will return to television on GMA-7 surfaced last year.
